Hands-on farming
Melita Farms will offer educational programs for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. These programs will incorporate a mix of classroom and hands-on learning opportunities to help children experience sustainable farming in novel ways.
We want the next generation of students to learn the importance of responsible land management by seeing our farming operation up close. By teaching them how Melita Farms grows healthy and delicious produce, and allowing them to “get their hands dirty” in the fields, we aspire to encourage lifelong healthy eating habits and respect for our environment.

Learn about sustainable farming practices. Combat climate change.
Each semester, we will offer opportunities for students from area high schools and colleges to spend a semester working with us at Melita Farms. As green thinking and interest in combating climate change have risen, agricultural programming has been a popular interest area for students wanting to make a difference.
With over 50 acres of cropland, and plans for modern greenhouses, a retail facility and hands-on mentoring, Melita Farms will offer a wealth of learning opportunities for participating students. We aim to create an outstanding hands-on experience for students wishing to gain exposure to farming, from both an academic and practical perspective.
